What We Do

The Purpose of Our Mission

We help weekly rate motel residents with food programs and spiritual care. Our food programs help residents reduce their food costs, which allows them to pay their bills and save money. There is no greater joy for us than a family being able to pay the security deposit for permanent housing and leave the motel.

Second, we provide spiritual care to help the broken or those just needing to get back on track and feel better about themselves. Our goal is to help people find peace and joy again in their lives.

Who We Help

Generally, our programs assist low-income communities.
Currently, the residents of weekly rate motels and their children.

What We Do

Feeding People

Motel room costs can be high which leaves little room for food for most young families, couples, and individuals. We address those needs by providing food baskets and hot meals each month. There are no stoves in motel rooms so quality, tasty, hot meals are greatly needed & appreciated.

Quality, Tasty Meals

Our meals cost a little more because we strive to have the best tasting meals for those in need. We decided a long time ago we would not sacrifice the taste and quality. We try to use better ingredients and fresh vegetables, with a goal to have a great tasting experience for those we serve. Our chef and cooks have a passion for cooking!

Meet Our Chef

Chef Kenny Gehrtz

Hi I’m Kenny Gehrtz I’m a passionate self taught chef of 35+ years in the food industry.  I have a desire to put a smile on every person I’ve been able to feed and to help others in need!  Together with my business partner Jordan Keener we have put together a catering company called Feel Your Food (FYF). It expresses our joy in bringing the love into the food which is a term we call cooking with your heart which is  caring what we bring to our customers. My other passion is my family of three children and my wife in being a loving husband and father.

Hot Meal Delivery

We deliver meals using warming bags and containers to keep everything hot. We also cook onsite at the motels and have sponsored BBQs and other meal events. We are proud to serve the motel residents regularly each month.

What We Do

Feeding Souls

Residents are often coming out of rough situations, breakups, heartache, and some have been in domestic violence situations. Some are dealing with depression, and alcohol and substance issues. Many just need a “listening ear” to hear their story. We strive to be there for the spiritual needs of all.

Hands on Care

Chaplain Britt, our founder, is committed to being onsite at the motels weekly providing care, comfort, and concern for all in need of spiritual care. He has developed relationships with many residents and is around the clock to assist in spiritual needs. We are proud of his efforts to be a resource for people whether they are nonbelievers or strong in their faith. His caring and non-judgmental approach has proven to be effective in helping residents get back on track. We also have a volunteer team that meets the residents when hot meals are served and provides support.

Daily Devotionals

We provide regular spiritual care by sending out daily devotionals via text or email to all residents who sign up for our food and hot meals programs. “Today’s Tiny Devotionals” are soft messages of faith, hope, and love and written by Chaplain Britt. Subscribers also include friends, clergy, supporters, business contacts, and other recipients. We now serve hundreds of people with our “raindrops of Jesus” messages and we’re growing! We have received a wonderful response from the residents and all followers. Many have commented (see testimonials) that it helped them gain perspective, improve their outlook, change their behaviors, find Jesus, and some even cried as various devotionals touched their hearts. Jesus was love and not a “Bible thumping” preaching type. We believe in this gentle approach.

What We’ve Done

We have been serving the motel residents since December, 2021. Initially we delivered just eight food baskets our first month. Later we added hot meals and sponsored BBQs onsite. Hundreds of meals and several thousand pounds of groceries have now been delivered by our teams. Our services really took off with the addition of meals. Hot meals are so important as there are no stoves in the motel rooms. We expect to serve thousands of meals by the end of 2023 versus hundreds last year. Now we serve multiple motels with plans for expansion. The need is great.

Our Goals

Feeding People

We have goals to serve many more people. Currently we serve 200 meals a month. The need is great, with hundreds of residents at the motels we serve. Further, residents have asked can we cook four times or more a week to help them save money for a security deposit and get into permanent housing. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough meals for all that are currently signed up on the food list. We would love to provide hundreds of meals every week. We estimate our food budget needs to be $1,500 a month to provide 1,000 meals monthly.

Feeding People Campaign goal:
$18,000 annually.

Capital Campaign

We continue to look for the right building to expand our operations that would house a large commercial kitchen and also provide storage space for the groceries we receive from our food banks. Currently, we can only cook about 30 meals at a time, though the need can be over 100 meals each time we serve. Ultimately our growth is limited until donations catch up with the needs of this community. Our goals are to secure kitchen and refrigeration equipment, the purchase of a food pick-up/delivery truck, and the leasing of a building.

Capital Campaign initial goal:
$125,000

Feeding Souls

We are blessed that so many value and appreciate the Tiny Devotionals we send out each morning via text. We expect to grow from 200 to 1000 subscribers in the next 18 months. At our current 200 subscribers x 365 days in a year, that’s 73,000 devotionals sent out in one year! Currently, this is a very labor intensive, manual one-by-one process to send out. We would like to purchase an automated texting software. With each new subscriber there is an incremental cost. When we get to 1000 subscribers, it is estimated to be $11,680 annually.

Feeding Souls Campaign:
$12,000 annually.
