Meet the Founder

Britt Park

Hello!
We welcome you to browse, learn about our charity, and also my journey. My journey started several years ago and was both a physical and spiritual journey. I tell my story to encourage others, to provide hope, and to offer that no matter what your circumstances, you can recover. I tell everyone I meet: your past has a PURPOSE! I’m living proof. Thank you for visiting our site and thank you Jesus for redeeming me!

Sincerely,
Chaplain Britt

MY STORY

What was wrong with me?

In the corporate world for over 30 years, I built and led highly successful sales teams –managing more than 100 employees and generating tens of millions in sales revenues. I earned recognition, awards, incentive trips, and enjoyed strong financial success. Yet, despite my professional success, my personal life was a trainwreck.

In 2017, I weighed 302 lbs. and was in poor health physically and mentally. I used a CPAP machine, battled extremely high blood pressure, and was asked to take statins for high cholesterol. I was at serious risk for a stroke or heart attack. On top of my physical issues, I was miserable and carried deep wounds from 30 years of past hurts and failed marriages.

Fortunately, Jesus never gave up on me – despite my mistakes, my health issues, and the broken pieces of my life. I quit the corporate life and went to a simpler pace. I divorced my unfaithful wife. I began to exercise and walk. I lost the weight and got fit. Though physically fit, mentally I was still not okay. After several months, I cried out to Jesus and begged forgiveness. Jesus calmed all my storms and helped me forgive those that had wounded me. With forgiving others and myself, my life became peaceful and full of joy. Finally, I found peace again. I rebuilt my faith and became determined to follow God in all my endeavors.

Now physically and mentally healthy, God placed it on my heart to go back to school and get my Master’s degree in Ministry, and complete a Chaplaincy program. I became a non-denominational Chaplain.

Renewed from the love of Jesus, I began delivering meals to anyone in need. Later, as we grew with volunteers and donations, in 2021 we became a 501c3 non-profit – a public charity. Our focus became “feeding people, feeding souls.” We would deliver hot meals to the homeless and working poor, and I provided spiritual care as a Chaplain. Overcomers Charities works hard to “Love Thy Neighbor” and help the broken and those in need just like Jesus did for me.

Sincerely,
Chaplain Britt
